"Dream a Little Dream of Me" (oil) by William Schneider

William Schneider on painting an art model for his recent award-winning portrait:

“Kelly is one of my favorite models; I don’t think she has an ungraceful bone in her body,” said William Schneider. “In this pose I was especially taken by her expressive gesture. She seemed like a glamorous leading lady from the golden age of Hollywood.

“I often name my paintings after song titles. ‘Dream a Little Dream of Me’ was first recorded in the ‘30s and later became a hit for the Mamas and the Papas. It somehow seemed to be a perfect title for this image.”

Schneider’s painting, “Dream a Little Dream of Me,” was awarded “Best Painting by a Signature or Master Member” in the Best of America 2022 Small Works Exhibition sponsored by the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society (NOAPS). The exhibition was held at the Beverly McNeil Gallery in Birmingham, AL. The Jurors of Awards were Master Artists, Sivanda Nyaypathi, Matthew Cutter, and Susan Lindsey.

  1. Aaron, Think that you a realist at heart, but when you branch out with a slippery brush, loaded with paint your heart stands out. Small pieces to large pieces: funumenal! (Portuguese for fantastic!) My artist friends agree! Let us know where you will be showing next.
