REALISM LIVE is taking place online over four days, on October 21-24, 2020, with a beginners’ day on October 20. Beginners’ day will focus on beginner-level training in drawing and painting portraits, still life, landscape, floral, the figure, and more.
“People were skeptical about an online conference because they were concerned about feeling connected. However, our unique community aspect put people in touch to communicate daily. It was a big win for everyone,” said Eric Rhoads, host of the event and publisher of PleinAir magazine.
Realism Live will contain art instruction demonstrations, talks on art principles, lectures on art history, painting critiques, and artist roundtable discussions. Participants will use Streamline’s community platform to interact, and live painting from live models will take place for all attendees.
“When we announced the event to the PleinAir Live audience, more than 600 signed up,” Rhoads said. “We’re expecting a record-breaking audience. We also had a huge number sign up for the optional beginners’ day so attendees can learn some basics before the main event.”
